Gavin is a senior fertility specialist and obstetrician, renowned for his effective treatment of all aspects of infertility in both women and men. Warm and caring, he is popular with his patients for his honesty and understanding, but also for his determination to offer them the very best chance of success. 

As an innovative leader in the fertility field, Gavin is at the forefront of research and technological advances. His specialist interests include the management of unexplained infertility and repeated IVF failure, preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) and immune diagnosis and therapy. Whether his patients are simply seeking information, trying to start a family, or looking for a second opinion after multiple unsuccessful attempts, Gavin offers an individualized treatment approach for each and every one and adjusts his management through extensive testing at each stage. 

Internationally renowned for leading research on the role of the immune system (Natural Killer Cells) in recurrent miscarriage and IVF, Gavin has pioneered new approaches and his “Bondi protocol”, a treatment for implantation failure, has now been adopted by specialists across Australia. Gavin continues to develop cutting edge treatments for immune disorders related to infertility and recurrent miscarriage and is frequently sought out for second opinion.  

Gavin is Clinical Director of IVF Australia’s Alexandria and Bondi Clinic, Staff Specialist at St George Hospital and Royal Hospital for Women, and a Conjoint Associate Professor at UNSW.  He studied medicine at the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford in the UK and specialized in reproductive medicine in London, where he obtained the UK equivalent of CREI - UK subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine. He has a PhD in reproductive immunology from the University of Oxford.

Gavin lives in Sydney with his wife and three children and when not helping his patients have babies can be found either swimming in the ocean or playing guitar.  He teaches and examines for the Bachelor of Medicine and Master of Reproductive Medicine degrees, and for the Membership of the Royal College of O&G, lectures regularly at national and international meetings, and has established the Miscarriage Clinic at the Royal Hospital for Women.  He is widely published and, as an editor of the renowned journal Human Reproduction, is frequently asked to review the latest advances in research.
